ZIA Writers Guideline

ZIA Mission
ZIA publishes fresh, challenging and practical content that seeks to engage women with truth as it affects their lives and relationships.

ZIA Values
ZIA emphasizes the following values as the foundation for all of our content. Articles written for ZIA must align with the following values:

Truth: There is absolute, transcendent truth. ZIA presents truth in a way that offers insight and freedom.
Nonconformity: ZIA looks beyond cultural and social expectations to find truth that directs our daily decisions and actions.
Savvy: ZIA is stylistically relevant by addressing and engaging current trends and fashion.
Graciousness: ZIA believes in respect and charity toward all individuals, their preferences and opinions.
Practicality: ZIA provides useable solutions that help readers attain personal goals.

What We Publish
ZIA is composed primarily of freelance articles. Writers should not assume readers come from a particular worldview. We publish feature articles, columns and reviews in five section categories:

Haven - Home, hospitality, entertaining, decorating
Glow - Beauty, spiritual growth, health, style
Embrace - Family, parenting, marriage
Kindred - Love, dating, friendship
Legacy - Career, ministry, social impact

Feature articles stretch 1200-1500 words in length and may be in first person as appropriate. Feature articles may be research or interview-based on topics aligning with the sections listed above.

Columns will range from 500-1000 words, and should be driven by personality and style as well as substance.

Reviews are published for works and new products that are transformational to their market segment or the culture at large. Reviews will be 500 words in length and must focus on the novel or dynamic aspect of the work or product.

How To Submit
We consider both query letters and full manuscripts. Send your queries and manuscripts via electronic mail to editor@ZIAmag.com. Manuscripts can be sent in Microsoft Word, RTF, Pages or as a raw text file.

Rights/Payment Details
We negotiate rights and payment on a case-by-case basis. If your article or article pitch is assigned for publication, we will send you a contract offer via electronic mail.

Writer’s Forum
Once assigned a story, authors will be given access to ZIA’s online assignment tracking system and discussion boards. There, authors can discuss their stories in advance of publication, gleaning critical feedback and find fresh ideas.
