Dream Drawers
by ZIA editor
We recently received an organizing tip that has revolutionized our dresser drawers. Instead of stacking clothes top-to-bottom, stack them side-to-side. For example, take that stack of t-shirts and place the entire stack on its side in your drawer so that the folded side of each t-shirt is visible.

Not only will you be able to see every item at a glance, but the drawer will also stay neat as you pull out one item at a time (unlike the mess that ensues when trying to find and pull out a shirt from the bottom of the drawer). Added bonus: more clothes can fit in a drawer stacked side-to-side. Try this trick in kitchen linen drawers as well, and say goodbye to digging to find what you need. | COMMENTS (0)

Perspective
by ZIA editor
When a friend passed this article on today, it was hard not to pause and reflect on life's trials. It seems that perespective has a lot to do with how we see those challenges and disappointments.

Walk a mile in the shoes of the youngest foster parent in Orange County. From the night shift at "the happiest place on earth," to the day shift of diapers, groceries and discipline, this 21 year-old janitor at Disneyland is truly pulling double duty.

April Household Tips
by ZIA editor
• Hosting a special event using candles? Place the candles in the freezer for 3 hours prior to burning, and they'll last much longer.
• Tired of stained tupperware? Spray it with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces to prevent staining.
• Ants marching through your kitchen? The supposedly never cross a chalk like, so get out your chalk and draw a line on the floor to stop the procession.
• Tiny splinter in your finger? Use scotch tape instead of tweezers or a needle. The tape will remove most splinters much more easily and painlessly.
• Bras breaking down in the wash? Toss your lingerie in a pillowcase and tie it shut, then toss it into the washer to keep it from wear-and-tear in the laundry.

Do you have a clever household tip to share with other ZIA readers? Send it to editor@ziamag.com for us to try out and pass on. | COMMENTS (0)
